Austin an impressive 13TH in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut


Austin’s top-15 finish in the the NextEra Energy Resources 250 marked the debut for Trail Motorsport.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Chase Austin kept his truck’s nose clean and drove to a solid 13th-place finish Friday night in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ NextEra Energy Resources 250. Austin, driving the Griffin Masonry No. 32 Chevy Silverado for Trail Motorsport, qualified and started 22nd in the 100-lap affair and was competitive running in the lead pack all race long.

Austin, 19, adapted to the handling of the truck very well throughout the running of the Truck Series opener. What may have been even more impressive was his ability to work the draft in his initial Truck Series start, mostly while running two- and three-wide in a large pack of trucks. Running around 15th to 20th for most of the race, Austin was able to maneuver his way through a number of multi-truck accidents to propel him and the No. 32 Trail team to the fine 13th-place result.
